Description

Gordex 40mg Tablets is a proton pump inhibitor that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is used to treat symptoms of heartburn / Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid) and prevent gastric ulcer caused by infection with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), or by the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Heartburn is an uncomfortable, burning feeling in your chest and throat. It’s a symptom of acid reflux, which happens when your stomach contents flow backward into your esophagus (the tube that connects your mouth and stomach). Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) block the gastric hydrogen-potassium ATPase pump that resides on the luminal secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell membrane, inhibiting gastric acid secretion. PPIs have a longer onset of action, but provides longer-lasting relief, making them ideal for sufferers of frequent heartburn. Thus, it reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach and provides relief from symptoms and promotes healing. It is best to avoid foods that seem to make your symptoms worse, such as rich, spicy, and fatty foods. Cutting down on caffeinated drinks, such as tea, coffee, and cola, as well as alcohol may also help.
