Hemagel T Topical Gel is a hydrophilic gel is developed for surface wound treatment. It acts to chemically bind (free) oxygen radicals that are formed during the process of wound healing. The uniqueness of this medical agent is given by the patented structure of the hydrophilic gel with its inbuilt scavenger of free radicals - a structure not found in any other hydrogel wound dressings. Free oxygen radicals are present to a great extent in all types of trauma and they hamper the whole healing process. Once HemaGel is applied, an elastic layer forms immediately on the surface of the wound. This absorbs free oxygen radicals and eventually any secretions or fluids from the wound. At the same time, this layer prevents the formation of a scab and supplies a sufficient amount of moistness for so-called "moist" wound treatment.
